4-Week Mindful Living Course: An Introduction to Mindfulness
“steady the mind, open the heart”
An introductory, four-part course to learn and practice the evidence-based methods of mindfulness. Modeled from methodology based on modern cognitive science blended with ancient mediation techniques proven to help reduce stress and experience life more fully. Through a series of meditations and experiential activities, participants will learn to steady their mind and move from stress reactivity to a skillful, compassionate response to life as it unfolds moment-to-moment.
No experience is needed and all walks of life are welcome to attend. A commitment to attending each of the four sessions and daily personal practice using recorded guided meditations is required. Participants are encouraged to practice a minimum of 20 minutes each day between classes. Each session will build upon the next and will introduce new practices with a chance to ask questions and share experiences so it is critical participants are able to commit to attend all sessions.
Adapted specifically for TODAY is a Good Day, this course is based on the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction program as taught at the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care, and Society at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.
